We are pleased to inform you that the house for the Borijan family is completed! Dražan and Nemanja moved into their home at the beginning of this month.
Together, we have achieved the common goal of ensuring that the Borijan family does not spend this winter in a container but in their own warm home.
The Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation launched a campaign to help the single father, Dražan, who lived with his son in a container in Ledinama. Dražan is a single father, a refugee from Croatia, and a displaced person from Kosovo. He belongs to a generation that was very young when forced to participate in wars in Croatia, Bosnia, and ultimately in Kosovo. He has witnessed dramatic experiences and memories from this period that he is trying to overcome. Nemanja is eight years old and has been assigned to his father's full care due to his mother's poor mental state. The family lived in extremely poor conditions in a container that is intended for temporary accommodation and worker rest, not for living. They did not have running water or a bathroom in the container.
Nemanja is an excellent student who practices karate and attends a free-swimming school during the summer.
